Day 2 in El Salvador...

Sorry, I was hoping to post yesterday, but by the time we got home I was to tired. Anyway, on Saturday we got up at 3:30 a.m and didn't get to the mission house in El Salvador till 7:30 or so..It was a LONG day, but it was all worth it to finally be in El Salvador!! Here are some pictures of some of our group at the airport and on the plane....

Sunday we we went to a church about 5 minutes away for the mission house. It was an amazing experience!  We also went to CIPI. This is an orphanage for toddlers, babies, teenage girls, teenage moms, and children with special needs.  This is definitely one of my favorite places to go. Here are some pictures of Monday....

Monday we went to San Martin! I LOVE this place. All the people there have special needs and  range from age 12-50 or so. They act like they are 2! It is so funny. There was this little boy....well he was more like 12, that was lying in bed and had just recently had his stomach cut open so drugs could be taken out.  I started crying and just wanted to be alone. I sat down and started writing in my journal. This is what I wrote,........."During these trips I find myself asking, why am I not Pablito with the fungus on hands and feet and can't walk, run, or crawl? Why am I not the little boy that was cut open for NO reason? Why am I not the kid on the street? Why am I not the 10 year old girl who is involved with gangs and was put in an orphanage because of it? Why am I not the 15 year old girl who has already had a baby and has been raped by her father, to find out that she is pregnant again? Why am I so blessed?"

Here are some pictures of Monday....

On Tuesday, we went to CISNA. I love, love, love this place! This orphanage has between 40 to 60 boys. There are ages 11-18.  This time was very intense and hard for me. All these things hit me really hard. I will write more about CISNA as soon as I can, but today on the way home from CISNA I was so upset I could hardly catch my breath.  At one point I thought they were going to have to pull the bus over because I thought I was going to be sick. I will post those pictures from our day at CISNA later.
Please continue to pray for the team! Thanks for reading, Carson!
